How much do you charge to build a website?
We don’t have set prices for our services as every client has different requirements and it’s hard to estimate a project without having a conversation first. We design and develop both custom and semi-custom websites for businesses that require different functionalities and components on their platforms. If you have a set budget, simply let us know - money is not taboo at akW. We will be able to provide you with an estimated quote after our non-obligatory onboarding meeting. How long does it take to build a website?
It’s hard to give a timeframe for a project we know nothing about yet. Usually, our standard timeline is between 3 to 6 weeks but it hugely depends on the project size, additional services and functionalities of the website you may require. We will be able to provide you with an estimated timeframe during our first meeting. The timeframe we provide does not take into consideration any delays on our clients' end - we’re all busy bees and it sometimes happens.
What platforms do you build websites on?
We specialise in building websites on platforms like Webflow, WordPress, WooCommerce and Shopify. On many occasions, we add custom code to the websites to improve functionality and provide the best results. We can also code your website from scratch, but it takes more time and thus, resources to accomplish that request.
Will my website be mobile-friendly?
Absolutely yes! We can’t stress enough how important it is to have a mobile-friendly website. Over half of your visitors will land on your website using smartphones. We go all and beyond to ensure that your website is responsive on every screen size and browser.
Will my website include SEO?
All our websites include on-page technical SEO, meaning we will make sure all the components on your website will be visible and readable for search engines like Google or Bing. We can also help in creating long-form written content for your new platform so it has a better kick-start. Keep in mind that it won’t assure a position on the first page of search results. In more aggressive industries you may need to invest in a monthly SEO strategy to get there.
Do you provide copywriting (written content) for my website?
We can provide copywriting services at additional costs if requested. We specialise in long-form written content that’s optimised for both humans and search engines, meaning it ticks both boxes - tells your story, engages your visitors and is loved by Google. We’ll ask you a lot of questions, as you know your business, clients and brand the best. We will dig into the culture and the messages you want to spread to keep it authentic and aligned with your brand’s voice. If you require our copywriting services for your website, simply let us know during our conversation.
Will you integrate my website with other platforms?
Yes, we can do that! If you require integration of your website with other platforms and/or software, simply let us know and we will include additional service into your website design plan. If you already have a website and require integration-only services, contact us and we will help.
Do you provide a photoshoot of my venue?
We love creating new content and photography is our passion, so yes, we can take smashing photos of your venue/physical store and even products. If required and possible. If we’re not able to travel to your location or you can not cover the cost of additional service, we suggest checking out and supporting local artists!
Where are you based?
We are based in Northampton, UK and work with both local, national and international businesses.
Do you work internationally?
Absolutely! We love meeting face-to-face and getting to know you and your brand but sometimes it’s not possible. Zoom, scheduled calls and e-mail communication are not strange to us and we love working with all kinds of businesses from different corners of the world.
Do you offer website maintenance?
Yes, we can help you with maintaining your website, if you wish. We’ll also spend some time with you after the project is finished, to help you with understanding your platform, if needed. We don’t mandate our maintenance plans to our clients but we provide maintenance plans and monthly SEO plans for those who request them.
Can you re-design my existing website?
Yes! Let us know what’s your vision and we will be happy to assist. We’ll look at your current website and suggest a few ideas that will enhance your layout. We’ll be happy to redesign, make small improvements or start from scratch.
Can you make small improvements to my website?
Absolutely! We’re only one call or e-mail away. We can help you as much or as little as you wish with our hourly updates. We can also look at your website and suggest small UX/UI as well as SEO improvements. We are available even if you’re not on our maintenance plan. We love building long-term relationships and getting inspired by successful businesses. We can provide minor and major updates to your website and help you in growing your platform in the future.
My budget is limited. Can you still help me?
Yes, yes, yes. Money is not a taboo topic at akW. We love collaborating with like-minded starting and small businesses. Please, feel free and comfortable to inform us about your total spend plan and we’ll adjust our services to meet your cost requirements.
How much input will I have in the website design process?
As much or as little as you want. Your opinion, vision and feedback are crucial in our website development and design process. We start every project with interviews and onboarding (read: lots of questions) to assure we understand your needs, challenges and likes. We continue with revisions throughout our process. Additionally, once your website is up and running, you have one more revision (max. 2h) with us for free. On the other hand, if you’re too busy or simply trust our creative lead and don’t want to be as involved, you can request fewer feedback sessions.
Will I be able to update the website myself?
Of course! You will have full access to the backend of your website, regardless of the platform, it’s built on. After we finish the project, we will spend some time together showing you how to navigate the platform and how to do minor changes yourself. If needed, we’ll supply you with supporting documents or videos so that you can refresh your new skills in the future. However, we recommend a professional developer to complete more complex changes to the structure and layout of the website and maintenance of plugins.
